Package Spotlight: JQuery

One of the most popular and widely-used JavaScript libraries in the world, jQuery is a common performant, feature-rich library used for event handling, ajax, animations, and much more.

In recent years jQuery has become less popular as other MV* frameworks (model-view-something) have become more popular. With these frameworks they have abstracted out some functionality to other areas and jQuery is no longer needed. However, we don’t use frameworks like that here and many very useful plugins are still written to be based on jQuery.

We use jQuery heavily for ajax requests, event handling, and more. It’s commonality and simple syntax allows any developer to quickly come in and pick up where another developer left off.
