Collecting Credit Card Information on Free Purchases

An often-requested feature for TRYTN is the ability to collect credit card information for a buyer without charging them any money. Before this feature was released the system would create a payment record without collecting any sort of payment information for the buyer for free purchases.

This type of functionality makes total sense. Say you’re booking people on a popular tourist pass that results in free bookings to you. If they don’t show for the tour you still have the ability to charge them a cancellation fee or even part or all of the cost of the tour.

This feature can be turned on by any tour or activity operator that utilizes Stripe by going to their Stripe settings area and checking the “Require customer to enter payment information for free purchases” checkbox.
