Strong Customer Authentication

Strong Customer Authentication

TRYTN recently completed an upgrade to our systems to consume Stripe’s Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) compliant product offerings.  This primarily impacts businesses located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and that have configured their TRYTN account to use Stripe as their payment gateway.

SCA is a new European regulatory requirement to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure. Once SCA goes into effect on September 14, 2019, online payments will require additional customer authentication. Transactions that do not adhere to the new guidelines may be declined by your customers’ banks. This regulation applies to transactions where both the business and the cardholder’s bank are located in the EEA. Stripe has created a short video that explains SCA as well as showing how SCA will change your checkout flow. We recommend Stripe Docs for more information.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to your account manager.
